    December Greeting from MASFMA President

    Dear MASFMA,

I saved the best for last! In my final President’s Greeting email, I am excited to share the new Mid-Atlantic Sports Field Management Association (MASFMA) logo which assimilates our local chapter with the national Sports Field Management Association brand. The design was initially created during this year’s Spring Education Event from a napkin sketch by David Brown, MASFMA member and teacher at Sussex Technical High School in Georgetown, Delaware. After several rounds of edits, I am proud to share the final version of what stemmed from David’s original vision. Thank you to David for his amazing contribution, which paved the way to our new MASFMA logo!

Just last week, MASFMA signed a joint contract with the Maryland Turfgrass Council (MTC) to engage Percy Publications to represent our industry during the 2023 Maryland Session. This is an exciting and long-awaited partnership which officially connects our two organizations for the purpose of one goal – protecting and promoting our industry.

This association could not be where it is today without you. Please take a few moments and renew your membership and spread the word to those who would benefit from a MASFMA membership.

In the coming weeks ahead, the 2023 Board vote will be sent out from SFMA via email. Please stay tuned and cast your vote. There are amazing candidates ready to continue our path for success.

For those traveling to attend the Sports Field Management Association Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, MASFMA will be hosting a joint happy hour with the Virginia SFMA Chapter on Monday, January 16th at the Beerhive Pub – complimentary registration is live: https://mastma.org/meetinginfo.php?id=82&ts=1669776936. We look forward to seeing you there!

It has been an honor to serve as MASFMA President these past two years. When I think about everything that the membership and Board has accomplished, I am proud. Thank you to our members and sponsors for your continued support and dedication to the sports field industry. I wish you and your families a very happy holiday season and look forward to continuing to serve as your next Immediate Past President.

    Sincerely,

    Nicole Sherry
