September 2023 Greeting from MASFMA President

Happy September, Mid-Atlantic SFMA!

Fall sports time is here with football firing off and baseball winding down, not to mention the US Open in full swing (no pun intended). Thank you to all who attended the MASFMA Member/Sponsor Mixer at Camden Yards last month; it was a great night! The O’s got the win and it was fun talking with everyone. Special thanks to Nicole Sherry for hosting during a very busy time of the year.

Several Board of Director members of MASFMA and the Maryland Turfgrass Council will be hosting a lunch in the upcoming weeks for Maryland Secretary of Agriculture staff members to discuss the upcoming congressional session. Our goal is to better partner with policy makers so that we are considered a value-added resource when bills are introduced to decision makers.

It’s crazy hot out there to begin September! Please stay hydrated and I hope we will see some rain soon.
