APRIL 2024 GREETING FROM MASFMA PRESIDENT

Happy April, MASFMA!

So here we go - full swing into spring sports season. Best of luck to our 2 MLB Sports Field
Managers, John Turnour and Nichole Sherry. To the rest of us, Parks and Rec, Schools,
Universities, some of us have already started, this is where we shine! So, kick some butt and
try to enjoy the season!

Real quick chat about stress. Everyone, please try to relax and take everything with a grain of
salt. When you start feeling stress or anxiety take a deep breath, slow your thoughts, walk
away (if need be) and try to calm down. There is nothing that any of us do that should send you
into any kind of anxiety attack or stress you out that much. Life is very short! Yes, these are our
careers, but nothing is as important as family. If anyone is feeling stressed and not sure
what to do, please reach out and call me, I would gladly chat with you.

We are excited to announce our summer field day Wednesday, May 29th at the University of
Maryland! Please sign up online. Think about purchasing a new MASFMA hat and you can
pick it up at the field day - pre-ordered hats are $25 but they will be $30 at Field Day.

Geoff is working on getting Chuck to come talk about fertilizer so we
can get some CEU’s for that. I have Kelly Love with the Maryland Department of Agriculture
coming to talk about all the fun things she deals with daily. Then we will have all our sponsors
there to demonstrate and chat with them about their product. This is a great opportunity for our
members to learn more about our sponsors and maybe see one of their products in action.
