HOW TO APPLY (Read below first): Applications can be submitted online 2026 Scholarship Application
The MASFMA Scholarship is a financial grant awarded annually to a student pursuing a degree in turfgrass science or plant science and an eventual career in sports field management. The goal is to provide financial support to students, which will in turn, support the future of the Sports Field industry.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university within DC, DE, MD, or Northern Virginia
- Should be enrolled in a turfgrass or plant sciences curriculum
- Must demonstrate an interest in Sports Field Management
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Application must be received by December 31, 2025
• Application must be summitted online or emailed in PDF format to [email protected]
• Application must include:

- Phone Number
- Email Address
- College/University
- Major
- Letter of recommendation from a faculty member (required)
- Transcripts (unofficial will be accepted) (required)
- Statement of interest in Sports Field Management and why the scholarship should be awarded to the candidate (this should be presented in an essay format) (required)

- Recipient will be notified by February 1, 2026
- Scholarship will be presented at the MASFMA Spring Education Event
- Recipient will be selected by the MASFMA Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors
