    7:00 -7:30        Registration

    7:40 – 7:45      Welcome to MASFMA 2026 Field Day

    7:45- 8:15        We are honored to introduce Paula Sliefert, our new SFMA CEO, and Lea Craig, our Manager of Member Programs. Find out what are the future goals and challenges of SFMA and how SFMA can strengthen local chapters.

    The following educational field events will be rotated 4 times throughout the morning in 35-minute sessions and will run concurrently from 8:15am to 10:30 am

    Robotic Mowers and Sprayers: Find out how these new technologies can fit into your future management operations. The moderator of this event is Ava Veith from Penn State. We will also be working with several vendors/sponsors to have them demonstrate their equipment and answer any questions.

    Evaluating Sports Turf Quality, Playability, and Safety: Learn what equipment and techniques are being used to assess sports fields in the areas of playability and safety. Join Mr. Geoff Rinehart, UMD/IAA faculty member and advisor to MASFMA on a hands-on demonstration of the testing equipment

    Line Painting Demonstration: See how the MD SoccerPlex Prepares their fields for various sporting events. Efficiency in completing this task is critical for this venue since over 500 field lining events occur annually. Listen and learn from Larson Storer, sports field manager, on how the MD SoccerPlex completes this task.

    Synthetic Turf Primer: Join Michael Meley, Astro Turf, and John McShane, Field Turf to discuss and demonstrate several maintenance and field evaluation practices for synthetic surfaces.

    10:30 – 12:30 Sponsor Booths and Demonstrations:  Take time to visit our sponsors at the field day.  We are fortunate to have vendors who will have table-top displays and/or field demonstrations of equipment or products.  See what you can learn by tapping into the expertise of our sponsors.

    12:30 – 1:30 Lunch and Networking: Enjoy a barbecue lunch and networking with other sports field managers and sponsor representatives.
