September Greeting from MASTMA President
Dear MASTMA Members,
I hope everyone is doing well and adjusting to the “back to school” schedule, particularly if you work at a school and/or have children attending school. The last few weeks have been a tad challenging from the scorching temperatures, high humidity, Tropical Storm Ida, and need I say worms?... I hope the fall presents calmer weather and a decent break for us all.
To help you in your career at whatever level, MASTMA is hosting a Professional Development Series kicking off the first of four Zoom webinars on Thursday, September 23rd. Ms. Glori Hyman, Director of the Institute of Applied Agriculture at the University of Maryland will be presenting and answering questions from the stages of resume building, development of a LinkedIn profile, interview skills, and negotiating. The Series is free to members and non-members only pay $15 per webinar, so please share the opportunity with anyone who could benefit. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER and investing in yourself is never a bad call, no pun intended.
Thank you to the 45+ attendees who participated in the first MASTMA BMP Workshop last month. Based on the well-received feedback thus far, this will certainly NOT be our last BMP Workshop with plans to schedule additional workshops in the coming months. Please stay tuned and keep the feedback coming!
It's the time of year to begin the process of renovating and fixing our fields. Our membership community is a place where we can all support each other; don’t hesitate to reach out to any fellow member for guidance and/or assistance via the membership directory (you must be logged on to the MASTMA website as a member to use it). As always, our sponsors have the materials and tools needed to help you succeed – trust the experts.
Sincerely,
Nicole Sherry
