February Greetings from MASTMA President
Dear MASTMA Members,
We enjoyed seeing many of you at the National Sports Turf Managers Conference held in Savannah, Georgia last month. MASTMA hosted over 50 members and guests at our Social where we networked and enjoyed time together. If you haven’t heard yet, Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA) has rebranded itself to become Sports Field Management Association (SFMA) to encompass not just turf, but the entire sports field and the many hands that go into making it playable. Your MASTMA Board plans to assimilate MASTMA to the SFMA brand and logo – more to come, please stay tuned. As always, your input is encouraged, so if you have ideas regarding MASTMA’s rebrand, I’d love to hear them.
Next up is our big annual MASTMA Spring Education Event, which I am thrilled to announce will be hosted at Camden Yards on Thursday, March 3, 2022! Our esteemed speakers who all hail from my alma mater, the University of Delaware, and their presentations will be valuable to earn recertification credits as we gear up for spring sports. Register here.
You are an important member of MASTMA, and we are committed to making our chapter as resourceful as possible. Please verify (update if needed) your member profile on the MASTMA website to ensure you are receiving MASTMA communications, follow MASTMA on Twitter (@MidAtlanticSTMA), Facebook (@MidAtlanticSTMA), and/or LinkedIn (MASTMA (Mid-Atlantic Sports Turf Managers Association)), and of course, renew your membership for 2022. If you have any issues renewing your membership, please contact our Executive Director, Melissa Dornan at [email protected] and she can assist you.
For many of us, the season is gearing up. Don’t forget to utilize our generous sponsors for your sports field management needs. And as always, we are all here to help support you. I am looking forward to seeing you IN PERSON next month at the MASTMA Spring Education Event!
Sincerely,
Nicole Sherry
