May Greeting from MASTMA President
Dear MASTMA,
I hope your Spring is off to an amazing start!
The MASTMA Field Day at Dunkirk Regional Park in Calvert County will take place on June 23rd. Dunkirk Regional Park is one of a few parks to grow and manage an interesting combination of grasses for its climate; Bluegrass and Bermuda (Bluemuda); it’s a must see. The day will be a great opportunity to visit with MASTMA sponsors, see equipment demonstrations, and hear from a few invited guest speakers - registration is open and I hope to see you there!
The 2022 Legislation Session in Annapolis, Maryland has ended. I’ve attached the MASTMA End of Session Report provided by Richard Reinhardt of Z&C LLC, MASTMA’s partner lobbying firm. In the Report, you will read the actions MASTMA took on your behalf to support the sports turf industry. It has been a pleasure working with Z&C and I am hopeful that we can continue our relationship as MASTMA finally has recognition amongst State Legislators. Continuing this work is especially important as our State gubernatorial and legislative elections take place later this year. Funding is necessary and thus MASTMA will kick off a fundraising campaign specific to this work beginning next month.
